The engine won't start again until the bike has come to a complete stop. Sometimes it's enough to slow down to a speed close to 0 km/h, i.e. when you're about to fall off the bike. So my journey to work took LONGER than on a regular NON-electric bike. What about the hills? One of the main benefits of electric bikes is that they are supposed to help uphill. With this bike it's the other way around! When going up a hill (not a very steep one), the engine switches off at walking speed and the display flashes 19 km/h! And the engine won't start again until you stop. You can ride up a hill under your own power, but with the weight of an e-bike being much higher than a regular bike, it's a lot more challenging. The carbon material of this bike doesn't change that fact either. Of course, pushing the bike is more challenging, so you can thank this bike for making the hills harder. Riding this bike is quite dangerous, especially on the road in car traffic. When it starts, the electric wheel gives you fast acceleration. The engine then shuts off and you start to slow down, especially uphill, the deceleration is quite pronounced. And if you want to restart the engine, you have to stop. Almost suicide on the road. I'll be taking the bike in for a claim tomorrow. If the claim is accepted and I get a working bike, I will rewrite the review, not to be unfair, defective pieces do occur. If I'm told that this condition is okay, I'll rewrite the review as well, respectively. I would like to attribute this action of Alza and thus I would HIGHLY recommend everyone not to buy this bike, rather than any other bike on Alza. Anyway, the bike is basically unusable, so if Alza doesn't accept the claim, I will take the matter up with the proper authorities.
