This is a design thing that was first meant to match the new kitchen and it does. Satisfaction then. The controls are quite logical, although the auto-lock (child lock) sometimes gets confusing. We are low-maintenance users, so we basically just make do with the "start+30 sec" and "stop" buttons: -)
What I really regretted was the absence of a clock. The display is beautifully large and bright, plus in plain sight, so we would use them. Well, it couldn't be helped, looks were more important than function. But because of the extra hours that were originally in the description, I take off two stars.
