We bought this as a run for our hamster, but it turns out the hamster is scared of it and just hides in its little house instead of appreciating the interactive playground ;-) but it'll be sufficient for larger rodents and for raising kittens. It could also be used for puppies, but given their sharper claws, I'm afraid the puppy would leave marks and maybe even holes in the material.
Takes longer to assemble

Between the panels, there are usually some empty spaces. It is not a big problem for a small hamster, but if you want to put hamster bedding or turf at the bottom of the cage, it will fall out through those gaps. So I had to buy another base for the cage. However, you can create your own structure for different sizes of pets.
Flexibility for structure
big enough
empty spaces at the bottom

Big
easy to assemble
also ideal for three guinea pigs
there are gaps between the boards
the connecting components are made like a star, so they hold the cage above the ground and stick out at the top
