Noise cancelling is seemingly high quality and strong, but only at the cost that any slight movement of the headphones on the head means a change in the L/P balance side or sound penetration from outside. I would have thought that the sixth generation of the product would somehow address this, at least by allowing a reduction in the strength of noise cancellation in exchange for increased comfort by reducing the aforementioned phenomenon.
In the end I don't return them, I keep them in case I need a really high quality call. I bought them with an extra discount on sale and still unpacked, but I am definitely not satisfied and cannot recommend them.
For daily driving, an order of magnitude cheaper (yes, really an order of magnitude) headphones will do a much better job.

I was very disappointed with the headphones, I was expecting something much better. I'm not an audiophile, I'm a normal listener and I was hoping that compared to the airpods1 or XM4, I would experience listening to music that would make me weak in the knees and not want to take the headphones off. That really didn't happen.... The headphones are heavy, unnecessarily large and bulky compared to the XM4. Sonically for a normal person there is no shift at all, you won't hear a difference between xm4 and xm6. If anyone is hesitant, I'd rather recommend the XM4 or airpods3pro. You get the exact same headphones for a much lower price. Someone already mentioned in the comments that they sound just like headphones for 5 thousand, I didn't believe him... Well, now I'm returning the headphones and in my mind I give him the truth...

It is 90% mechanical resonance caused by a design flaw. The tone is somewhere in the units of kHz, and is only slightly lower than the electronic sound announcing that you've touched the touchpad. After a while, this glitch is downright maddening. I sent my first XM6 in for warranty because of this resonant sound - I thought it was a "Monday product" - a bad piece. My claim was accepted, my money was refunded and I bought a new XM6 in a different colour just in case. The sound is there again. So no defective piece, but probably a design defect of the WH-1000XM6. What good is it that SONY has developed the best ANC on the planet if they ruin it with a design flaw caused by resonance that sends the whole glorious silence into a tailspin? It's a shame that in such expensive headphones from such a reputable company this shit happened, there is no other way to call it. If anyone knows how to get rid of the sound, please post. Thanks!
