When you draw diagonal lines with Apple Pencil, the lines are wavy and uneven, which doesn't happen without the glass glued on. I deliberately went for glass - for durability and a smooth surface. I didn't want a matte film with a rough finish. Unfortunately, that's probably not the way to go.
