He's doing what he's supposed to do. The closing works as it should even after a long time.
It is written in the label that the hotplates can be washed in the dishwasher, but after prolonged use they started to release a color that cannot be washed and overall it looks of poor quality, I must have had the wrong piece. I bought new hotplates even though the toaster is under warranty, so we' ll see if it turns out the way it should.
