Lots of music for little money. That's how I would describe this external sound card! The sound is actually better than an intergrated sound card (at least for me). Works well without problems in Linux!

If you're just looking for a way to bypass non-functioning audio jacks, then this will deliver what you expect.
Headphone, microphone and headset connectors, volume control, mute option - it's all O. K. and it's working fine.
However, I would have expected more from a device that is labeled as an external sound card (so stated in the product description at the time of purchase). So if you're looking for an external sound card, keep looking.

I bought it because when the PC is busy while playing, I get whistling in the headphones due to some interference, if they are connected to the front output of the sound system integrated in the motherboard.
The whistling is gone, but if I compare the sound to what I get from the integrated sound card, the difference is obvious. On the board is the SupremeFX S1220A, which is a rebranded Realtek, and the hearing aids are HyperX Cloud. I' m not an audiophile, but the difference with connecting to a record and there' s a lot to know about this. I can' t describe it very well. The bass is missing and it' s such a not very flat sound, as is the case with TVs with not very speakers. The sound from the integrated sound card is so much more pleasing, at least for me.
Because I didn' t believe this much, I bought a reducer so that I could put the hearing aids in the speaker, where it also sounds better than this sound card (but also still a little worse than directly connected to the sound card, but again I can' t hear there playing whistling).
To sum it up, that' s probably enough for such ordinary listening or some PC calls, but it' s definitely not the best for music and playing (which, on the other hand, is probably balanced by price).
I didn' t even try the microphone, I put it back in the box and I' ll use it at work once we get back there.

I bought because of the microphone input. It may make noise (even when the microphone is muted), but this can be suppressed, either in the recording or directly at the input, for example using EQ APO with the Reafir plugin.
The quality of the output really does not match the DAC and the cards in the price tags between 2-3 thousand. I compared it to the FiiO E10K and quite stared. The output at maximum volume makes very quiet noise regardless of the SW volume, which is not a big problem, the volume is sufficient for most headphones and I only hear noise when it is completely silent.
