The lid can be taken off so you can add ingredients during mixing. The plastic mixing jug is made from super tough Triton plastic.

How the Kinetix blade system works
The Kinetix blade system has central blades that pull food down to crush and chop, rather than leaving pieces around the side of the container. The blades also work to aerate the mixture and the funnel shaped jug base ensures food is kept moving for even blending
