Footballs

Size

  • Size 3 and 4 footballs are suitable for children, whereas size 5 footballs are used by teenagers and adults.

Material

  • Leather - suitable for playing in a dry environment; when wet, leather footballs get heavier, reducing their performance.
  • Synthetic - can be used in any weather conditions.

Certification

  • More expensive footballs are certified and labelled with the logos "FIFA Inspected" or "FIFA Approved" - this certification is awarded to footballs that meet strict criteria, and such balls can be used for professional matches.

Futsal and indoor soccer balls

Compared with footballs, these balls are smaller, softer and heavier. They are designed for indoor use or artificial grass only. Size 4 is the standard size for this type of ball.
