Important Parameters to Consider When Buying a 4K TV

Screen Size

The majority of 4K TVs have screens sizes of 55" (140cm) and larger, and when viewed, the optimal eye distance from the screen is 1.5 times its height, which is approximately 1.2m. When choosing the screen size, take into consideration the layout of your living room and avoid causing excessive fatigue of your eyes.

4K Panel Refresh Rate

The image processing frequency value determines the smoothness of the resulting image, shown in Hertz, and the 4K television ranges from 50 to 100Hz. The higher the refresh rate of the panel, the smoother the image the TV can offer you.

Tuner Type

For all types of TVs, including those with 4K support, the tuner takes care of receiving and processing TV signals. To tune into your favourite shows, you need to have a TV with a tuner that supports the same broadcasts as available with the 4K TV.

  • DVB-T - allows you to receive standard antenna broadcasts.
  • DVB-T2 - for antenna broadcasting with more efficient encoding, more data streaming and better picture quality. In 2021 it will completely replace the DVB-T standard.
  • DVB-S2 - together with a satellite, it provides satellite reception.
  • DVB-C - Allows for cable reception.
