The WD Red Pro 8TB hard disk is one of the high load internal HDDs for NAS and ordinary data centres. The 3.5" format is designed chiefly for desktop computers and data centres. One of the main parameters is clearly the rotational speed. The 7200 RPM RPM delivers faster data transmission. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 8000 GB. The storage has a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect the Western Digital hard disk and the PC or other devices takes place using the SATA III interface.

Other Hard Drive Features
Platter HDDs have a special construction. Inside the drive there is a mechanism that uses moving platters, complete with disk read and write heads. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but on the upside, this design also delivers an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The crucial parameter that determines the speed of a platter hard disk is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). In case of the WD Red Pro 8TB, you would get 7200 RPM revolutions per minute. Data transmission and stability is also impacted by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital HDD is equipped with a 256 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their fast retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Western Digital HDD
If you want to install the WD Red Pro 8TB in your PC or other device, it must have a 3.5" slot. The communication between the HDD and PC is done via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the best HDD data transfer solutions available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
