The WD Gold 8TB hard drive is one of the high load internal HDDs for NAS and ordinary data centres. 3.5" HDDs are designed primarily for desktop PCs, data centres, and other data-processing devices. One of the most important characteristics is obviously the rotational speed. The 7200 RPM RPM delivers faster data transmission. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 8000 GB. The storage has a 256 MB memory cache. You can link the Western Digital hard disk and other hardware is facilitated via the SATA III interface.

Other HDD Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. Inside the enclosure there is a mechanism that utilises moving platters accompanied by disk read and write heads. These moving parts can be damaged by a shock or impact, but on the upside, this design also delivers an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The crucial criterion that determines the speed of a HDD is RPM - the number of revolutions per minute. With the WD Gold 8TB, you can look forward to 7200 RPM RPM. Data transmission and overall stability is also determined by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital platter drive is equipped with a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Disk
In order to mount the WD Gold 8TB in your PC or other device, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. The communication between the HDD and PC is done via the SATA III interface with a speed of 3 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the best HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
