AUTO FINESSE Orbital Polisher MPX Dual Action Polisher

AUTO FINESSE Orbital Polisher MPX Dual Action Polisher
The MPX Dual Action Car Polisher is a professional paintwork polishing tool, ideal for targeting smaller areas and contoured panels with perfect precision. The MPX has a 9mm orbit for intensive paintwork restoration and refinement and comes complete with both 3-inch and 5-inch hook-and-loop backing plates, designed to fit the full selection of polishing pads, including the Revitalise System V2 Pads and Revitalise Spot Pads. The MPX Dual Action Car Polishing Machine has a 600W motor and 6-stage adjustable speeds (2000–6400rpm). This highly versatile machine features a slow, smooth start-up and a soft-grip body for comfortable, easy use. An extra-long cable makes it easier to work on finishing taller parts of the bodywork, such as pillars and roofs.

How the MPX orbital polisher works
The MPX Dual Action Polisher is developed with increased safety in mind. It can perform enhancements and multi-stage corrections without leaving any visible marks. It uses a free-floating spindle to promote rotation of the backing plate in two directions – in concentric circles from the machine head, and a wider orbital motion from the spindle. This type of oscillation (sometimes called a 'wobble') reduces the premature build-up of heat under the pad, which is a safety measure against burning through the paintwork. The 'throw' of a DA machine simply refers to how large the off-centre oscillation is.
Safety and benefits of the MPX orbital polisher
The MPX Dual Action Polisher also stops rotating (stops spinning the backing plate and simply vibrates) when too much pressure is applied, when the machine is on the edge of the pad, or if it is held at an uneven angle. This stopping action makes a DA much safer to use than a rotary polisher because it is almost impossible to accidentally burn through a clear coat or paint layer. It's a modern machine capable of removing the same heavy defects as rotary polishers, but without the increased risk of damaging the surface.
Use and accessories for the MPX polisher
The MPX machine polisher can be used with or without the supplied D-handle to offer the perfect, all-round polishing solution on any panel or paint type. For best results, it is recommended to use the machine polisher along with a Swirl Spotter Detailing Light – a tool for highlighting minor defects as you work. No pads or applicators are included with the machine polisher. It is supplied with a 3-pin UK plug.
The principle of paint correction
All paint correction processes use abrasive polishes and compounds to level down the top layer of clear coat (or single-stage topcoat) over and around defects to the bottom of the deepest imperfection. Instead of directly removing the defect, the entire surrounding area is removed until the defect simply vanishes. Due to the way abrasive formulas break down during the process, using a machine polisher is always the quickest and most effective way to get the most out of your product.
How abrasive polishes work
Through heat and physical friction, the abrasive particles in compounds break down as they are worked to create an ever-finer finish. On a microscopic level, the particles are crushed together and break into smaller particles that cut the surface less and less, and begin to refine more and more. This gives a compound its 'range of cut'. This is also why it’s important to fully work the polish through, which is usually indicated by the residue wiping away, to finish down correctly and create the finest possible surface with that particular abrasive. When using a machine polisher, the process is much faster and more consistent than by hand. Machine polishers can also be used to apply finishing polishes, surface cleansers, and paint glazes, such as Tripple All-in-One Polish, Ultra Glaze Paint Glaze, and Rejuvenate Paintwork Cleanser.
