OSRAM Xenarc Original, D2S
Xenarc Original means progress, innovation and new technologies. Xenarc lamps are not like incandescent filament or halogen bulbs, instead there is a light arc between two electrodes, which occurs via a controlled gas discharge by a small quartz burner. The burner is filled with xenon, gas salts, plus other additives. Xenarc lamps can be used in special xenon headlamps which have automatic headlight range control and special cleaning systems.
This is the first Xenon tube without mercury. With Xenarc's D3 and D4 systems, Osram improves environmental protection to a new level.
It produces a brighter light which will visibly improve illumination of the road. It adds security because you will be more focused, less tired, and will be able to react to obstacles, dangers, traffic signs.
Scattered light is reduced to a minimum, so you do not dazzle oncoming cars while you are driving.
With the extremely long lifetime of the Xenarc lamp, it is only occasionally necessary to replace it during the life of the car.
