The Eaton 5E 1600 Gen2 UPS operates with line-interactive topology, delivering a stable power supply with an apparent power of 1600VA and a real power of 900W. This line-interactive UPS uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) technology, which actively corrects mains fluctuations without having to switch to battery power. This saves battery capacity for a complete power failure. The compact tower design, measuring 180×133×330mm, effectively saves space in your office or home.

Performance and automatic voltage regulation (AVR)

This line-interactive UPS provides 900W of real power and 1600VA of apparent power to supply and protect workstations, small servers and network devices. It operates at 95% efficiency under full load, which reduces running costs through lower energy losses. A key feature is the integrated Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which actively stabilises fluctuating input voltage across a wide range from 140V to 300V. This means the power supply handles common undervoltage and overvoltage without switching to the batteries, extending their life and keeping them fully charged for critical moments of a complete mains failure.

Battery and protection

Backup power is provided by a pair of sealed lead-acid batteries with 2×12V/7Ah parameters. These batteries are user-replaceable, which simplifies maintenance and extends the overall life of the device. The power supply supports the cold start function, which starts the UPS and powers connected devices directly from the batteries, even without an AC mains input. The system includes several key protections, such as surge protection, deep discharge protection for the batteries, and an automatic shutdown function for safely turning off connected systems.

Connectivity and sockets

The Eaton UPS 5E 1600 with USB with IEC Gen2 offers wide connectivity options. Input power is provided by a standard C14 connector. For connecting protected devices, there are six IEC C13 output sockets available. A USB port with full HID compatibility handles communication with a computer, ensuring automatic integration with power management tools in Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems without the need to install specific drivers.
