The Epson EB-FH18 lamp projector uses 3LCD imaging technology to project an image in native 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution. Its UHE lamp light source produces a brightness of 4100 ANSI lumens, which keeps content bright and legible even in normally lit rooms. This makes the Full HD projector suitable for office use as well as for home projection. It offers a flexible image size with a screen size from 31" to 304". The long lamp life of up to 12000 hours in economy mode reduces running costs and maintenance frequency.
3LCD technology produces an image with balanced colour and white light output, eliminating the rainbow effect. The native 1920 × 1080 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio displays content with high sharpness. Brightness is 4100 ANSI lumens in normal mode, dropping to 2300 ANSI lumens in economy mode. The high 16000:1 contrast ratio contributes to deep blacks and well-defined details in dark scenes. The size of the projected image can be smoothly adjusted with a screen size range from 31" to 304".
The projector provides Short Throw projection with a throw ratio of 1.30–2.09:1. Short throw projection lets you project a large image from a shorter distance from the projection surface, with a minimum distance of 0.88 metres. Image alignment is made easy by automatic vertical keystone correction within a ±30° range and manual horizontal correction within the same range. The manual zoom with a factor of 1.62 helps adjust the image size without physically moving the projector. It can be installed freestanding on a table or fixed to a ceiling mount.
The light source is a UHE lamp with a power consumption of 230W. Its lifespan in standard mode is 5500 hours. Activating the economy mode extends the lamp's life to up to 12000 hours, while power consumption drops from 284W to 181W. The reduced power also affects the cooling noise, which drops from 37dB(A) to a quieter 28dB(A) in economy mode. The direct power on and off function shortens the time needed to start and stop projection.
Two HDMI inputs are available for connecting signal sources. The physical connectivity is complemented by a USB 2.0-A port for media playback. Wireless connection is handled by the integrated Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac), which supports screen mirroring via Miracast and AirPlay 2. A standard audio jack output is provided for connecting an external audio system.
Epson is a technology company based in Japan. It is a subsidiary of the Seiko Group, and on of the most important manufacturers of printers, scanners and multimedia projectors. The company's offerings are much broader though, encompassing industrial robots, cash registers, and more.
