Hall Effect joysticks
The Hall Effect sticks use non-contact magnetic sensors. This system eliminates physical wear and tear, delivering high-precision motion sensing during gameplay. The magnetic sensors prevent unwanted stick drift and increase control reliability. The controller offers high sensitivity when controlling game characters in demanding situations and maintains stable performance even with long-term use.
8BitDo gamepad compatibility
The controller supports Nintendo Switch, Android version 9.0 and higher, iOS, macOS, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Users can easily pair it as an X-input or D-input wireless device. Optimisation for SteamOS means full functionality on the Steam Deck gaming platform. Switching between the different operating modes lets you quickly change the target device.
Power and battery life
The integrated 480mAh rechargeable battery provides plenty of power for long gaming sessions. A full charge, which takes approximately 1–2 hours, powers the controller for up to 18 hours in wireless mode. Charging is handled by a modern USB-C cable. You can also use the controller while it is charging.
Features
When connected to a Nintendo Switch, the controller supports specific features. Players can use the built-in vibration and motion controls for aiming or steering. It also has dedicated buttons for returning to the home screen and taking screenshots. These elements make controlling the console easier.
Construction and retro design
The design is a direct throwback to classic game controllers from the nineties. However, the manufacturer has integrated a modern layout of all control elements into the 63.5×144×33mm body. A full-featured D-pad is complemented by clickable analogue sticks, a pair of rear buttons, and buttons for the home screen and screenshots. The compact size and total weight of 114g make it easy to carry the controller in a backpack or bag when travelling.
