Key features of the Hitster Bingo board game

Spin the disco ball

Each round of Hitster Bingo begins by spinning the disco ball, which uses a light-up arrow to determine the category you will play. The player acting as DJ then uses the Hitster app to scan the music card's QR code and starts playback. All players have just 25 seconds to write their answer on their game card. The card is then turned over to reveal the correct answer. For each correct guess, the player gets a point and marks a square on their bingo card corresponding to the category's colour. The goal is to be the first to create a continuous line of squares – horizontally, vertically, or screen sizely.

A different category each round

The category chosen by the disco ball decides what players will try to guess in that round of Hitster Bingo. For example, they might guess whether the song is by a solo artist or a group, determine if it was released before the year 2000, identify its decade of release, or guess the specific year. All players write down their answers at the same time and they have 25 seconds to do so, with the end of the time signalled by the flashing disco ball. Each bingo card has a different layout of colours and categories, so every player faces a unique challenge.

For beginners and music connoisseurs

Hitster Bingo offers two difficulty levels, making it suitable for both casual players and true music connoisseurs. On the beginner side, the questions are more accessible and often work with decades or a tolerance of several years, while the expert version requires more precise knowledge of music history. You can play individually or in teams, and teams can be formed based on age, musical taste, or just left to chance. Songs are played using the free Hitster app in combination with the Spotify music streaming service. With a paid account, you can choose whether to listen to full songs or samples, while the free version offers only short clips.
