Onimusha: Way of the Sword PC
Onimusha: Way of the Sword will draw you into a dark and bloody story set in the Edo period in Kyoto, Japan. Get ready for intense sword fights where every blow is a matter of life and death. Each mission is packed with mystery, danger, and suspense.
In the skin of a samurai
Playing as a samurai, you embark on a journey of revenge and discovery. Your only ally is the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artefact that gives you superhuman strength. With it, you can take on creatures from the underworld known as the Genma, who threaten not only you, but the very course of history.
A path of rage, courage, and inner peace
Onimusha is not just about fighting, it is also a spiritual journey. Where does true strength lie? In rage, courage, or inner peace? You'll find the answer to this question at the end of a journey that will take you through a world full of demons, intrigue, and Japanese mysticism.
SAMURAI
Inspired by a real Japanese actor
Miyamoto Musashi is the protagonist of Onimusha: Way of the Sword PC. A young, determined, and fiery samurai, he arrives in Kyoto with a single goal: to prove that he is second to none in the art of swordsmanship. However, his quest for glory soon takes an unexpected turn, full of dark trials, supernatural forces, and internal dilemmas. Capcom has brought this character to life not only through the story and game mechanics, but also visually, with Musashi's face inspired by the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, an icon of the samurai film. Thanks to this, Musashi appears not only as an relentless warrior, but also as a tribute to the classic Japanese hero, whose strength is as great as his honour.
DEMONS
The Genma are made for killing and devouring all living things
The Genma are terrifying demons from the depths of hell, brought into the world of the living by the dark miasma enveloping Kyoto. This otherworldly evil has torn the boundary between life and death, allowing demons to flood the streets of the once peaceful city. Their presence has brought only pain and fear; massacres, attacks, and constant threats have turned Kyoto into a nightmare. Among these beasts, the Hitotsume-Gasa stand out, one-eyed demons who attack in packs, armed and merciless. Whether they're brandishing a sword, firing arrows, or hiding behind a shield, their only goal is to kill and devour all living things. They are driven only by primitive instincts, with no emotion, no purpose other than the desire to spread death.
GAUNTLET
A soul-devouring artefact
The action in Onimusha: Way of the Sword PC revolves around Musashi and his mysterious Oni Gauntlet, an artefact that gives him superhuman strength and makes him the terror of the demonic Genma. The gauntlet is a tool of destruction, but also the key to a deeper understanding of the dark force that is sweeping over the human world. It allows you to absorb the souls of defeated enemies, which not only strengthens Musashi's abilities, but also reveals something far more sinister. With each soul absorbed, a mysterious voice seems to be released from the gauntlet, whispering, urgent, perhaps even a warning. Who or what is speaking to him? Is it a guide, a curse, or perhaps the voice of the Oni itself? This question is woven throughout the game.
KYOTO
The spiritual purity of Japan in darkness
The scenery in Onimusha: Way of the Sword PC plays a key role in building the atmosphere of the entire game. The story is set in historic Kyoto, a city renowned for its magnificent shrines and temples, of which the iconic Kiyomizu-dera is one of the visual and symbolic highlights. In the game, however, this spiritual centre of Japan has been transformed into a dark and terrifying place, infested by a miasma that, like a poison, decomposes not only the streets and buildings, but also human souls. Famous landmarks are reduced to ruins, sacred spaces are desecrated, and natural beauty radiates unease. Every step through the streets of Kyoto is accompanied by a chilling uncertainty; a Genma, or something even worse, could be lurking around the corner. The contrast between the spiritual purity of traditional Japan and its sudden fall into darkness creates a powerful and visually impressive framework.
