Design
With a depth of just 292.1mm, the design simplifies installation in smaller wall-mounted racks and space-constrained locations. The device requires minimal installation space in a 1U rack cabinet, with a width of 430mm and a height of 43.3mm. The total weight of the empty chassis is just 4.51kg. The small dimensions make it easier to deploy in branch offices, mobile systems, surveillance rooms, or smaller company server rooms. Three 40mm fans cool the internal components.
Processor and DDR5 memory
At the heart of the system is a quad-core Intel Atom x7405C processor with a frequency of up to 3.4GHz and a 64-bit x86 architecture. The 8GB of DDR5 base RAM supports In-Band ECC technology for real-time error detection and correction. Users can expand the RAM up to 16GB via a single SODIMM slot for more demanding operations and virtualisation. The AES-NI hardware encryption engine accelerates the security of sensitive data without a significant impact on overall system performance.
Storage
The storage combines four classic 3.5" SATA 6Gb/s drive bays and three modern E1.S standard slots with a height of up to 15mm. These slots include pre-installed adapters for standard M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe drives. The fast SSD storage serves as a cache accelerator to reduce latency when accessing files. The system supports hard drive configurations in RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10 or JBOD.
QuTS hero operating system with ZFS
The advanced QuTS hero operating system uses the secure ZFS file system to ensure the integrity of data on company drives. The system automatically detects and repairs silent errors, preventing damage to important files. WORM technology protects stored data from unauthorised overwriting or deletion by malicious software and enhances protection against ransomware. It also includes support for inline data compression and deduplication, which reduce capacity consumption on physical drives.
Fast network connection
Two integrated 2.5GbE ports provide higher transfer speeds for regular network traffic in a corporate infrastructure. For demanding transfers, you can install an optional QXG-ES10G1T network module with a speed of 10Gb/s. The device achieves read speeds of up to 2358MB/s and write speeds of 2352MB/s when using this high-speed network interface. For connecting peripherals, it offers one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with a speed of 10Gb/s, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, and one USB 2.0 port.
Comprehensive backup and virtualisation
The system supports direct backups of computers, virtual machines, and cloud services like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Integrated tools are used to run Docker containers and operate multiple operating systems simultaneously. Users also have access to advanced surveillance system management tools that support recording from IP cameras. An internal 150W power supply provides energy to all the device's components.
