Tri-band connectivity with Wi-Fi 7
The system operates on the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard and uses three frequency bands for optimal load balancing. The 6GHz band reaches speeds of 8647Mbps, the 5GHz band operates at 4324Mbps, and the 2.4GHz band at 688Mbps. Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology dynamically aggregates data flows across different bands and channels, increasing the overall throughput and connection reliability for each device. Using wide 320MHz channels in the 6GHz band doubles the bandwidth for transferring large volumes of data. The system also integrates MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies with eight data streams to efficiently serve a large number of clients at once. 4K-QAM modulation increases the data density in the transmission.
Coverage and management
A single unit covers an area of up to 750m² and can serve up to 200 connected devices. TP-Link Mesh technology with artificial intelligence (AI-Driven Mesh) creates a unified network with a single name (SSID) and automatically optimises data flow paths. This allows devices to switch seamlessly between units without any connection dropouts. The system uses a combined wireless and wired backhaul to optimise performance and reduce latency. You can perform complete network management and setup, including parental controls, device prioritisation (QoS), or setting up a guest network, via the Deco mobile app or web interface.
Security with HomeShield
The integrated TP-Link HomeShield suite of tools protects your network and connected devices. Communication is encrypted using WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 standards. A guest network, available for each frequency band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz), serves to separate visitors from the main network. The HomeShield toolkit provides comprehensive network protection and advanced parental controls. Security features include SPI Firewall, Access Control, real-time IoT device protection, malicious site blocking, an intrusion prevention system (IPS), and DDoS attack prevention. The system also supports VPN server and client functions with OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, and WireGuard protocols.
WiFi system connectivity
The unit includes ports for high-speed wired connections. It features one 10Gbps port, one 2.5Gbps port, and one 1Gbps port. Each port automatically detects whether it is operating in WAN mode to connect to the internet or LAN mode to connect end devices such as computers, gaming consoles, or a NAS. The port selection is ready for multi-gigabit internet plans. The unit also includes a USB 3.0 port, which expands its functionality with support for FTP, Media, and Samba servers for file sharing on the local network. Power is supplied by an external power adapter.
