This outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point is designed for reliable operation in harsh weather conditions, confirmed by its high IP68 rating and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. Thanks to its integration into the Omada platform, it supports Omada Mesh technology for easy network expansion. Wi-Fi 6 and advanced technologies
The access point supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which offers dual-band transmission speeds of 1148Mbps on the 2.4GHz frequency and 2402Mbps on the 5GHz frequency. It uses MU-MIMO and UL/DL OFDMA technologies in a 4×4 configuration for both download and upload to efficiently distribute the signal and serve a large number of clients simultaneously. The Beamforming feature also actively directs the wireless signal to specific devices, improving connection stability and range. Support for 1024-QAM modulation contributes to more efficient use of the available spectrum.
Robust construction
The device's construction is fully adapted for permanent outdoor deployment. The IP68 rating protects the internal components from dust and water, even during temporary submersion. Operational reliability in extreme conditions is also supported by 6kV surge protection and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. The access point uses four detachable omnidirectional antennas with N-type connectors and 6dBi gain for both bands. The option to replace them with directional antennas gives you freedom when designing coverage for specific areas.
Flexible network and high capacity
Integration into the Omada SDN (Software-Defined Networking) platform supports Omada Mesh technology. This feature links multiple access points into a single, unified network without the need for a physical cable connection for each unit. Combined with seamless roaming according to 802.11k/v/r standards, it ensures a smooth connection for mobile clients as they move within the covered area. The network capacity handles over 1000 simultaneously connected devices, meeting the demands of high-density user environments.
Management and security
Wireless network protection is provided by WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise encryption standards and other features such as VLAN, MAC address filtering, and rogue access point detection. Centralised management is handled through the Omada cloud platform, a hardware or software controller, and the mobile app. Standard SSH and SNMP protocols are also available.
Connectivity
The device offers versatile connectivity options. The advanced connector array includes one 10G SFP+ slot for high-speed fibre optic backbone connections. It also features one 2.5G Ethernet port for power (PoE-In 802.3at/bt) and one Gigabit Ethernet port with power output (PoE-Out 802.3at) for connecting another device, such as a camera. This configuration provides flexible options for backbone connectivity and powering additional devices.
