Wi-Fi 7 performance and tri-band operation
The access point uses the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, which introduces key technologies to increase throughput and reduce latency. Operating across three bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz), it achieves a combined speed of up to 9335Mbps. Technologies such as the 320MHz bandwidth and 4K-QAM modulation increase the volume of data transferred. The Multi-Link Operation (MLO) function aggregates multiple bands simultaneously, boosting the reliability and speed of the connection for compatible devices. MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies efficiently serve dozens of clients at once and optimise transmissions in high-density environments.
Coverage and Omada Mesh
The device provides omni-directional coverage over an area of up to 300m² and is designed to serve more than 380 client devices simultaneously. Using Omada Mesh technology, it works with other units to create a unified, extensive network with a single name (SSID). Support for the 802.11k/v/r standards facilitates seamless roaming, where clients automatically switch between access points without any connection dropouts. This is crucial for maintaining a stable connection when users move around large outdoor areas, such as during video calls or streaming.
Network management and security
Management is handled by the Omada SDN (Software-Defined Networking) platform, which integrates network elements into a single centralised ecosystem. You can perform configuration and monitoring via the web interface, an Omada hardware controller, or remotely through the cloud and mobile app. The Zero-Touch Provisioning feature automates the deployment and configuration of multiple units on the network. Wireless traffic is protected by support for WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise encryption standards, access control, MAC address filtering, client isolation, and SSID-to-VLAN mapping for network segmentation.
Connectivity options
Physical connectivity is provided by a single 2.5G Ethernet (RJ-45) port, which serves as a high-speed data connection to the backbone network. This port also supports Power over Ethernet according to the 802.3at (PoE+) standard. This power method simplifies installation, as only a single cable is needed for both data and power.
