The TP-Link VIGI network recorder stores, manages and monitors footage from IP cameras in security systems. This device processes video signals from up to eight channels simultaneously and saves data to a hard drive. The device supports a high resolution of 3840×2160 and ensures smooth data transmission within the local network. Thanks to its compact desktop design, weighing 0.5kg and measuring 43×200.3×200.3mm, it is easy to place on any flat surface. The recorder offers an incoming bandwidth of 80Mbps and an outgoing bandwidth of 60Mbps, providing stable data streams to connected cameras. The TP-Link VIGI network recorder includes a built-in Wi-Fi module operating on the 2.4GHz band with a transmission speed of up to 300Mbps. Two external non-detachable antennas with a gain of 5.3dBi and lengths of 198.8mm and 189mm ensure signal reception from wireless cameras. The system supports wireless pairing, which simplifies camera connection without complex network parameter configuration and thus makes the overall installation easier.

4K output and video recording
The device offers HDMI and VGA graphic outputs that work simultaneously. The HDMI port supports 4K display, which corresponds to a resolution of 3840×2160 at 30Hz. Users can watch a live view on eight channels simultaneously in real time with the option to split the screen into 1, 4, 6, or 8 windows and can use the decoding capability for two channels at 8MP resolution at 25 frames per second. To make efficient use of storage space, the TP-Link VIGI network recorder uses advanced H.265+, H.265, H.264+, and H.264 encoding. These compression technologies significantly reduce bandwidth and disk space requirements while maintaining detailed image quality. The recorder can accommodate one SATA hard drive with a capacity of up to 10TB for long-term storage of recordings without the need to frequently overwrite older data.
Analytical functions and detection
When connected to compatible cameras, the system offers a wide range of detection tools. The recorder reacts to area intrusion, line-crossing, the movement of people or vehicles, sound detection, and tampering. When an alarm is triggered, it sends instant notifications, enabling a rapid response to any security incidents in the monitored property.
Remote access and compatibility
The TP-Link VIGI network recorder can be managed in several ways according to user needs. An interface is available for desktop computers, Chrome, Firefox and Edge web browsers, or a mobile app for Android and iOS systems. Users can remotely monitor the recorder via a web browser or mobile devices with Android and iOS systems and synchronously play back recordings on eight channels. Incoming bandwidth reaches 80Mbps and outgoing bandwidth is 60Mbps. Physical connectivity is provided by two RJ-45 Ethernet ports with a speed of 10/100Mbps, one serving as a WAN/LAN port and the other as a separate LAN port.
