I'm still trying
I had a protective film applied straight away and there is a 2mm gap from the bottom without it.

Asus has mobile phones quite clever, there are a lot of innovations and gadgets to make it easier to use. Gesture control, tuning for games, and yet no unnecessary annoyances. Who wants a powerful smartphone that isn't a paddle, this or the iPhone.

Overall the phone is not much, I shouldn't have bought it. I've had it since Christmas and it has completely shut down 2 times already by draining the battery. I'm afraid that when I really need it in a critical situation it will be dead.
In terms of functionality perfect phone .
So far, he's outperformed everything I've had so far.
Totally inadequate battery life and I use it rather little. Telephone calls occasionally, email here and there, messages. I charge at 80%, for a person who needs to be constantly on the phone or watches some video so this phone is completely unusable.

After a long time a very decent android phone.
I was deciding between the iPhone 2022 SE and this Zenfone 8 the criteria was size.
Asus is a better choice overall the phone is more equipped. If Zenfone goes further in this direction the next phone will be Asus again.
finally a "compact" phone 160g in size like the iphone SE 2022
excellent stereo speakers
high quality audio output 3.5mm 32-bit/384kHz with Dirac
IP68 waterproof
Excellent display 120Hz, HDR10+, 700 nits
Snapdragon 888 doesn't cut it
High quality aluminium body
notification LED
Decent rear photo
8GB ram
weaker front selfie camera
no SD card slot
the fingerprint reader would be better on the side (on the button) if the phone is off sometimes on the display looking
weaker battery but nothing terrible for a compact, it's to be expected android is just a more demanding system

What I wanted from the phone before I bought it was: to be compact in the hand, to take excellent photos, to be waterproof, to have a fast processor without choppiness, to charge quickly, to have a decent sound, to last as long as possible on the battery. The Asus Zenfone 8 was a hot candidate along with the Iphone 13 mini or Iphone 12 mini. I felt I was leaning towards the Asus Zenfone 8, also ultimately decided by the better price and the fact that I am more inclined to Android systems. Asus Zenfone 8 runs on a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which is great, nothing crashes, excellent is with this phone just taking pictures, photos are just great, videos also, you can see the image stabilization, settings, really good. Charging the battery is fast - 30w charger included, by the watch the phone is charged. At first I was worried about the battery life - it is 4000 mAh - but it lasted about a day, I was still wondering how to set it up better, and it is possible, it takes a bit of work to turn off services that you don't need or want, today (I'm not demanding to consume internet content and games) for work the phone lasts me up to 7 days (wifi always on, disabled automatic access of apps to the internet (I can read messages though), occasional photography, minimal music and video playback, normal strict communication with clients, etc. ), but if I start using the phone more, the battery life goes down, the two to three days are fine. For the phone's battery life, the Asus option to set the battery to ultra durable is also good, it helps a lot.
IP68 water resistance
compact size (ideal for the hand)
excellent photos
video with image stabilization (awesome)
excellent speakers
fast charging 30w
beautiful 120Hz amoled display
options for adjusting battery life
fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor
although it is dimensionally ideal in the hand, so without the case in the hand slides, (the cover that comes with the phone is also not ideal) after buying another case, but it's ok.
someone will argue that it lacks wireless charging, but you can live with that too, or buy a charging case somewhere (coil in the case to usb-c) like I did

For 500 CZK, I had a protective film glued on by Alza. It lasted two days and the display with it had a “rainbow grain“ like when it' s wet. I quit and would not use the service again
