The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G features a modern design with slimmer bezels and a distinctively designed camera module with a metallic finish. An interesting feature is the dynamic RGB backlighting with eight colour options, which is not just decorative. A major advantage of the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G is its 7500mAh battery, designed for extended use without frequent recharging. With typical usage, the battery life can reach up to two days. The phone can handle up to 109 hours of music playback, up to 28 hours of video, or up to 53 hours of calls. The battery is also designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity even after 1000 full charge cycles.*
45W fast charging and power for other devices
Support for 45W TurboCharge shortens the time needed to recharge the large battery. The phone also supports wired reverse charging at up to 22.5W, so you can use it to charge compatible wireless headphones, smartwatches or another phone if needed. A power adapter is not included in the package.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 brings performance and 5G connectivity
The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 mobile platform, manufactured using a 4nm process. The octa-core processor combines Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores, reaches frequencies of up to 2.4GHz, and works with an Adreno GPU. This provides enough performance for normal multitasking, communication, multimedia and other daily tasks. The platform also includes support for 5G mobile networks for fast data connections on available carrier networks.
4GB RAM can be expanded using internal storage
The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G 4GB/128GB variant uses 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The Memory Extension feature can use part of the internal storage as virtual RAM, so this 4GB variant can have up to 8GB of available RAM. For photos, videos and other data, the storage can also be expanded with a microSD card up to 2TB.
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and HyperIsland
The phone runs on the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 operating system, which includes the Xiaomi HyperIsland environment. This concentrates important information and controls in one place, letting you quickly check what's happening or work with supported features without unnecessarily interrupting the app you're currently using. The Redmi 17 5G has also passed a 48-month software ageing test focused on maintaining smooth responsiveness during long-term use.

The display also offers a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz, a 1400:1 contrast ratio, and an 8-bit display of 16.7 million colours.

For more comfortable long-term use, the Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G offers a reading mode and technologies aimed at reducing eye strain. The display has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly certifications. The front is also protected by durable Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which increases the screen's resilience during everyday use.
Dual stereo speakers with more powerful sound
A pair of stereo speakers complements the large display when watching videos, gaming or listening to music. The volume boost function of up to 300% helps maintain a clear and audible sound even in noisier environments, such as on the street or in a busy café.*
50MP AI dual camera
The rear camera system is dominated by a 50MP main camera with a 5P lens and an f/1.8 aperture, complemented by an auxiliary lens. HDR, night photography, portrait, time-lapse, FilmCamera and document modes are available. The front 8MP camera with an f/2.05 aperture is great for selfies and video calls, and offers HDR, portrait and night modes, as well as a soft-light ring. Both front and rear cameras can record video in Full HD at 30 frames per second.
Two views in one video
The Dual video function lets you record images simultaneously with the front and rear cameras. This means you can capture the action in front of the phone and your own reaction in a single video, which is useful when travelling, filming events or creating content for social media. In addition, portrait mode uses multi-frame algorithms for more natural processing of portrait photos.
IP64 and Wet Touch for everyday use
