Superior Picture Quality — LG Television
If you are a connoisseur when it comes to image quality, the extremely fine resolution of the 65" LG 65SM8200PLA is perfect for you. Its 4K display utilises an incredible four times as many pixels as a Full HD screen. Each image is brought to life by 3840×2160 pixels, which bring detailed pictures to life in front of your eyes. Even when you sit in close proximity to the screen, the picture maintains perfect sharpness and does not blur. This is ideal for viewing regular content and movies from high-capacity Blu-ray discs. It can also improve older movies and TV series that were shot at a lower resolution. A further benefit of high resolution is that applications and smart features operate more smoothly.
Connectivity and Other Practical Functions
The 65" LG 65SM8200PLA comes with a built-in DVB-S2 tuner, so you can receive a satellite signal for exceptional coverage and a wider choice of programmes. If you want to view cable TV, you can connect via the DVB-C tuner. To make the most of Smart TV functions, you will need to get online. Fortunately, this LG set has a conventional Ethernet port for you to connect to the local network. If you would rather not use cables, you can connect the TV to the internet wirelessly using WiFi. You will also find a web browser to surf the net on your television's large screen. Bluetooth allows you to pair with other electronic devices, such as your mobile or tablet. Finally, you can use the USB port to play movies or view photos from an external disk or flash drive. This model also features USB recording.
Panel refresh rate is a critical parameter that affects the quality and smoothness of the image displayed on the TV screen. The frequency is expressed in Hertz (Hz) and indicates how many times per second the screen image is refreshed. Higher refresh rates, such as 120 Hz, provide a blur-free and jerk-free picture, which is ideal for watching fast-paced sporting events or playing action video games. A refresh rate of 140 Hz or higher can only be achieved in game mode by connecting an external graphics adapter (connecting to a PC with a GPU or to a console).
Television technology refers to the type of display or screen used in the television. Different technologies offer different advantages and disadvantages in terms of picture quality, performance, cost and other factors. Common technologies include LED (Light Emitting Diodes), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), QLED (Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diodes), and others. Each technology provides a unique viewing experience and it is important to choose the right technology based on your specific needs and preferences.
Backlighting is a key aspect of display technology that affects the picture quality of the TV. It is the light source used behind the TV screen to illuminate the pixels. Different types of backlights such as Edge LED, Direct LED, Mini LED, FALD and Dual LED provide different benefits in terms of contrast, brightness and image uniformity. Choosing the right type of backlight can have a big impact on the overall TV viewing experience.
