Apple Watch Series 12 feature the new S11 chip and the Health Sensing System, which provides more frequent heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements. The Readiness feature helps assess your body's readiness for activity or rest. The watch also utilises Siri AI with Apple Intelligence and supports Audio Intelligence features, designed to let you view a text snippet from the last 15 seconds of a conversation or create a brief summary of it.

Live Rewind and Siri Recap Make Managing Information Easier

New Audio Intelligence features will expand how the Apple Watch can work with information captured throughout the day. With a double-press of the Digital Crown, the Live Rewind feature displays a text snippet from the previous 15 seconds of a conversation, allowing you to revisit information you might have missed, ask Siri about its content, or save it. Siri Recap is designed to create a brief summary of a conversation that can be reviewed later in the Siri app. Apple plans to release these features in beta by the end of 2026. At launch, Siri AI will be available in beta in English; Czech is not currently supported.

Availability of AI features in the Czech Republic: Neither Apple Intelligence nor Siri AI currently support Czech. The Live Rewind and Siri Recap features are expected to be available only in English at launch and will initially not be available in the European Union. Workout Buddy is also not available in Czech. The availability of individual features may vary by language, region and the iPhone used.

The New Health Sensing System Relies on More Frequent Measurements

The Apple Watch Series 12 features the new Health Sensing System, which includes a redesigned optical heart rate sensor that enables heart rate measurements every 5 seconds throughout the day. The watch also measures heart rate variability (HRV) more frequently, which, combined with other data, can provide valuable insights into your overall physical condition.

Readiness Helps Evaluate Recovery

The newly added Readiness feature combines multiple data points on daily activity and recovery, summarising them into a single, easy-to-understand overview. It assesses recent activities, training load, measured vital signs and sleep data, and then suggests whether it is better to rest, take it easy, or take on a more demanding activity. The score can change throughout the day based on your activities and tracked metrics, so it is not just a morning assessment.

Workout Buddy

The enhanced Workout Buddy feature in the new watchOS 27 operating system acts as an intelligent fitness partner or smart coach, capable of utilising data from your current and previous athletic performances. During your workout, it will provide motivational feedback and help you better understand your progress.

Choose from Aluminium, Titanium and Ceramic Finishes

The Apple Watch Series 12 is available in several materials and colour finishes. Options include titanium or aluminium, and the ceramic finish also makes a return for users who prefer a more luxurious look. The ceramic version is available in pearl white and midnight blue shades.

Aluminium models represent a more affordable option suitable for everyday use, while titanium and ceramic variants will appeal to users who prefer a more premium finish. The ceramic version stands out particularly for its distinctive look and glossy surface. In terms of structural durability, Apple has taken a significant step forward that will especially please athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Aluminium models are now protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which according to Apple is 60% more durable than the Ion-X glass used on previous aluminium models.

What Is the Battery Life of the Apple Watch Series 12?

The Apple Watch Series 12 lasts up to 24 hours on a single charge under normal use. In Low Power Mode, battery life can be extended up to 38 hours, allowing the watch to run longer without the need for frequent charging. For outdoor workouts, it lasts up to 10 hours. Additionally, it supports fast charging, where 15 minutes of charging provides up to 12 hours of normal use.

Which iPhone Is Compatible with the Apple Watch Series 12?

The Apple Watch Series 12 is designed for use with iPhone 11 and later, including iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later, running iOS 27 or later. Before purchasing, please verify that your phone meets the compatibility requirements and can run the required operating system. Compatibility with an iPhone is essential, particularly for setting up the watch, syncing data and taking full advantage of its features.

Is the Apple Watch Series 12 Smartwatch Water-Resistant?

The Apple Watch Series 12 smartwatch has a WR50 water resistance rating under ISO standard 22810:2010 and is suitable for activities like swimming in a pool or the sea. Thanks to its IP6X rating, it is also dust-resistant and features a depth gauge that allows you to track dives down to 6 metres, for example when snorkelling.
