What does a Smart TV offer?

Smart TVs operate based on apps, the number of which is growing every second. These include the video library Topfun, Voyo, iDnes.cz news, weather, well-known communication tool Skype and many others. Another platform that works on the basis of on-line connectivity is HbbTV, which lets you access, for example, the Czech Television archives. Pair a Smart TV with your smartphone and transfer the displayed content to the big screen.

Tips

  • Smart TV functionality works best with high-speed internet connection - over 5 Mbit /s, generally speaking. This prevents lagging image in high-definition movies, as their sheer size makes them rather demanding.
  • Cable internet connection provides more stable results than WiFi, especially in apartment buildings, where there are many WiFi networks.
  • Smart TVs use 4 main operating systems: Tizen (Samsung), webOS (LG), Firefox OS (Panasonic) and Android TV (Sony, Philips).
