AMD Ryzen 5 5600
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is fully functional and is a great value. It may have some signs of wear, but it is still ready for immediate and full use. We provide half of a standard warranty period. For more detailed information, click here.
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is based on the Zen 3 architecture and serves as the computing foundation for desktop builds. Its configuration of 6 cores and 12 threads operates at a base frequency of 3.5GHz, and under increased load, the clock speed automatically boosts up to 4.4GHz using Precision Boost 2 technology. Thanks to Multi-Threading technology, it handles parallel tasks and multiple applications simultaneously. Data access is provided by a 32MB L3 cache. This 6-core processor uses the AM4 socket and supports DDR4 memory, enabling compatibility with a wide range of motherboards.

Processor performance and compatibility
The Zen 3 microarchitecture uses a modified core layout and direct access to the 32MB L3 cache, which reduces latency in communication between cores. This design improves system responsiveness in both applications and games. The processor is manufactured using 7nm technology and has a thermal design power (TDP) of 65W. The processor has an unlocked multiplier, which allows for manual overclocking. By using the AM4 socket, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is compatible with X500, B500, and A500 series chipsets, or with selected older boards after a BIOS update. Support for AMD-V virtualisation enables the operation of multiple operating systems or specialised software.
Key processor technologies
The processor supports AMD StoreMI technology, which combines an SSD and a hard drive into a single virtual storage unit. This shortens system and application loading times. The processor is certified AMD Ryzen VR-Ready Premium, which indicates compatibility with virtual reality builds. Support for the PCIe 4.0 interface provides higher data throughput compared to PCIe 3.0. The package includes an AMD Wraith Stealth cooler, which ensures operating temperatures are maintained at standard settings.

Processor cores and threads
Processor cores work to some extent like separate processors, handling computing tasks independently of each other. The more physical cores a processor has, the more tasks it can process simultaneously. Threads can be described as separate virtual cores, which all modern processors have. An eight-core processor typically has sixteen threads, meaning it can handle sixteen processes at once.
Processor frequency
The operating frequency indicates the speed of the processor. Generally, a processor with a higher frequency can execute instructions faster than a processor with a lower frequency. A higher frequency ensures smoother and faster responses in everyday computer use, such as launching applications, browsing the internet, or editing documents. It ranges from 1 to 5GHz. Some CPUs allow for a short-term increase in frequency under high load (Turbo Boost).
L2 and L3 cache
For a processor to work as fast as possible, it needs fast storage where it can save temporary data. The L2 and L3 caches, located directly on the processor, serve this purpose. Although these memories are significantly smaller than RAM, they are also faster. L2 and L3 are the first storage areas the processor works with, and generally, the larger the better.
Processor socket
Before you choose a new processor, you should know which hardware connector (socket) your motherboard uses to connect the CPU. The processor and motherboard must have the same socket designation; this is the first step towards a functional build. Another important factor is the type of RAM. You should know what type of RAM you have.
TDP (Thermal Design Power)
TDP (Thermal Design Power) is a processor parameter that indicates the amount of heat it produces under maximum load, while also giving an idea of its power consumption. A lower TDP means the processor consumes less energy and generates less heat, which is ideal for laptops or energy-efficient systems. Conversely, processors with a high TDP offer higher performance but require advanced cooling to prevent overheating.
Processor cooling
A processor, much like a graphics card, generates heat during operation that needs to be dissipated, and the processor itself needs cooling. Some chip packages already include a cooler, but if you want to be absolutely sure you can sufficiently cool the processor's performance, you should get an external one. External CPU coolers come in various sizes and performance levels, and many support stylish RGB backlighting. You can get both a classic air-cooled version and a modern water-cooled one.
The supported memory type indicates which operating memory the processor can work with without problems. In practice, this primarily means the generation of modules - the most common today are DDR4 and the more modern DDR5. Each processor has precise limits, so if you try to insert a different type, the computer won't find the memory at all and won't start up.
The maximum number of channels expresses how many separate paths the processor can divide the communication with the RAM into. Most common home computers operate with two channels, so it is ideal to install two identical memory modules to double the speed. If the processor offers a dual-channel connection, it pays to always fit memory in pairs; otherwise, unused channels remain "empty" and performance is reduced.
A magasabb TDP érték általában nagyobb teljesítményű processzort jelent. Azonban ahogy nő az értéke, úgy nőnek a hűtési követelmények is. A TDP mértékegysége a watt.
