Digital power and system stability
The board uses an 8+2+1 phase digital power system with discrete MOSFETs, which delivers a stable and precise voltage to AMD processors. This design contributes to smooth performance even during demanding operations. The six-layer PCB actively helps to dissipate heat from the voltage regulators, increasing overall system stability and giving the processor room to overclock. In addition, the Digi+ VRM control module offers real-time control over voltage drop.
Storage and memory on the ASUS B850 MAX GAMING with WIFI
The board offers four slots for DDR5 RAM. It integrates ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile (AEMP) technology for automatic optimisation of modules without an EXPO profile, while also fully supporting AMD EXPO profiles for advanced performance tuning. For storage, the board provides three M.2 slots, one of which operates on a PCIe 5.0 interface with transfer speeds of up to 128 Gb/s. The other two slots use the PCIe 4.0 bus. A set of four SATA III ports supports RAID configurations for increased speed or data security.
Advanced cooling and network connectivity
The cooling system consists of large heatsinks for the VRM and chipset, complemented by thermal pads for efficient heat transfer. The board includes a range of fan headers, including an AIO Pump header for water cooling. Fan Xpert 2+ software enables detailed setup and temperature mapping. For connectivity, the board offers Wi-Fi 6E wireless, which uses the 6GHz band, and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port for fast and stable wired connections. There is also a USB-C port with a speed of 10 Gb/s.
AI features and simplified building
The EZ PC DIY feature set simplifies the process of building a computer. This includes Q-Antenna for quick Wi-Fi antenna connection, the Q-LED Core diagnostic tool and a pre-installed I/O shield. The BIOS FlashBack function lets you update the BIOS without a CPU installed. The board integrates software AI tools such as AI Cache Boost for accelerating work with LLMs and AI Advisor for expert advice. You can customise your build's look with Aura Sync technology and three addressable Gen 2 RGB headers.
