The Auto Finesse DPX Dual Action Car Polisher is also equipped with a powerful 720W motor and an adjustable speed range of 1800 to 5000 RPM. However, despite being a high-performance machine polisher, it has been developed with enhanced safety in mind. The Dual Action polisher is capable of performing enhancements and multi-stage corrections without leaving visible marks. Random orbital machines use a free-floating spindle that promotes pad rotation in two directions – both concentric circles from the head, and a wider circulating motion from the spindle. This type of oscillation (sometimes known as a wobble) reduces premature heat build-up under the pad, which is a safety measure that prevents paint burn-through. The ‘throw’ of a DA machine is simply how far it oscillates from the centre; the DPX has a 15mm throw.

A dual-action machine will also stall (stop rotating the pad and simply vibrate) if too much pressure is applied, if the machine is on its edge, or if it is held at an uneven angle. This stalling action makes a DA much safer to use than a rotary polisher because it's almost impossible to accidentally burn through clearcoat or paint layers. The DPX Dual Action polisher is capable of removing defects just as heavy as rotary polishers, but without the increased risk of damaging the surface.

Machine polishing is the professional way to restore paintwork by removing common defects like scratches, etching, holograms, water spots, oxidation and minor scrapes, refining the paintwork to a flawless finish. All paint correction processes use abrasive polishes and compounds to level down the top layer of clearcoat (or single-stage topcoat) above and around the blemish, down to the bottom of the deepest defect. Instead of removing the defect directly, a microscopic layer of the entire area around it is removed until the defect simply disappears.
