Using the Default / VLAN / Extend mode switch, you can easily customise network behaviour to suit your specific installation. VLAN mode isolates individual ports for enhanced network security, while Extend mode lets you extend data transmission up to 250 metres, making it ideal for camera installations. Additionally, the PoE Watchdog function automatically restarts a port if the connected device stops communicating. The Cudy switch supports IEEE 802.3af/at (PoE+) standards and provides up to 30W of power per port, letting you power devices directly through the Ethernet cable. This is ideal for connecting Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, or digital signage without the need for separate adapters.
Automatic PoE port recovery
The PoE Watchdog function monitors the activity of individual ports and helps keep connected devices running. If a connected device, such as an IP camera or Wi-Fi access point, stops transmitting data for approximately 5 minutes, the switch automatically restarts the respective PoE port to restore operation without manual intervention.Intelligent PoE power management
The CUDY switch features intelligent power management to help maintain stable operation across the entire network. The PoE Max LED indicator alerts you when approximately 90% of the available PoE budget is reached, while status LEDs for individual ports display active power to connected devices. If the available power budget is exceeded, the switch can automatically disconnect the last connected device to maintain stable operation for the rest of the network.

In this mode, downlink ports 1 to 16 can only communicate with uplink ports, not with each other. With Extend mode, the CUDY switch lets you increase the transmission distance of ports up to 250 metres, which significantly simplifies installation in larger spaces. The CUDY switch offers enhanced EMC protection, which helps minimise downtime caused by electrostatic discharges or surges. It features ESD protection up to 6kV for contact and 8kV in the air, while surge protection reaches 2kV (DM) and 4kV (CM) on the power supply and up to 4kV on the RJ45 ports. Thanks to this protection, the PoE switch is suitable even for demanding environments where maximum reliability of the network infrastructure is essential.
