A network switch is a functional network component that connects individual devices or other network elements. It is designed for managing network traffic. The D-LINK DGS-1250-28XMP is made to be placed in a rack. This model impresses with a switching capacity of 128 Gb/s. The Switch has 24 × RJ-45 ports that facilitate connection with network elements. 4 SFP connectors are there to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100Base-T technology facilitates data transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. 10/100/1000Base-T technology allows file transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It uses Dual Personality ports, remarkable for including both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one of them can be used at a time. The switch dimensions are 440 × 250 × 44mm. The D-Link device works with PoE technology, which provides power and signal connection to end devices with a single LAN cable. The switch weighs 3460g.
