The T-500 two-blade fireplace fan is designed to effectively increase airflow around freestanding stoves and direct hot air into the interior. This can increase the room temperature by several degrees Celsius. The fan has a thermal drive, so it is completely energy self-sufficient and does not require batteries or mains power. Depending on the rising temperature of the stove, the rotation speed of the blades increases continuously and thus the speed of hot air circulation. If the temperature exceeds 345 °C (650 °F), the fan must be removed from the stove immediately. For maximum efficiency, place the fan on the stove top so that cool air is drawn in through the "cooling fins". The base of the fan heats up during use, so the top handle should be used when handling the unit.
