Although the centipede rose is one of the very old cultivars, whose first appearance in Europe dates back to the 16th century, experts still do not know exactly from which species it was bred. What is more important is its use and that we can use it not only for cosmetic purposes, but also for consumption due to its high content of active ingredients .
What kind of taste can you expect from a rose table?
You will probably appreciate the taste of the rose of the centaury more than on its own in various mixtures, to which it gives a pleasantly sweet aroma with light notes of herbs and cloves . It goes well with green, black and red teas (rooibos, honeybush) and tastes irresistibly in combination with citrus fruits and herbs containing citral - whether it' s lemon myrtle, lemongrass or lemon balm.

- The rose is famous across continents . Even the indigenous people of North America regularly used decoctions of roots, leaves, or bark not only for healing, but even for ritual ceremonies.
- Some older herbalists recommend rosehip for premenopausal and menopausal pain, while others highlight the potential effect of antioxidants on the proper functioning of the immune system, fighting asthma and colds.
How is rose centipede used? And how to prepare it?
You can find rosehip very often in various soaps, anti-aging rose waters, and even in some types of tobacco. However, healing very often uses the flowers (buds) of the Rosa centifolia, because they are rich in tannins, flavonoids, kaempferol, and gallic acid. The preparation of rose hips depends largely on whether you buy the buds themselves or the entire tea blend. In the case of the flowers themselves, we recommend pouring one teaspoon into 250 ml of lukewarm to warm (but not boiling) water. You must also take other ingredients into account in the mixture, so for green teas like our Rose of the Orient, the temperature should be around 80°C, and for black teas even a little higher.
