The OLYMPIA UV 588 detector not only spots counterfeit banknotes but also checks tickets, meal vouchers, credit cards, and other valuable documents that contain optical, ultraviolet, and magnetic security features. It's very easy to use—simply plug it into a standard USB adapter or a computer's USB port using the micro USB cable and switch the button to the 'I' position. Two powerful UV LEDs will light up instantly, and you can begin checking. When you insert a banknote or other valuable item, the elements sensitive to ultraviolet light will be highlighted.

You can also switch the button to the 'II' position, which turns on a white LED to check for watermarks. This also activates the MG sensor for checking magnetic security features, which are indicated by an acoustic signal and an indicator light. The OLYMPIA detector also has a built-in magnifying glass, located under a sliding cover on the top, which you can use to check the microtext on banknotes. It features a durable construction and is fitted with anti-slip rubber feet on its base. It also includes a compartment for a Li-ion rechargeable battery, which is not included in the package.
