Pro zajištění maximální bezpečnosti využívají kamery Hue koncové šifrování. Veškeré video, zvuk a snímky jsou nahrávány do cloudového úložiště a jsou šifrovány klíčem, který máte pouze vy. Pro možnost nahrávání do cloudu a odemknutí dalších pokročilých funkcí včetně umělé inteligence, je nutné si zakoupit předplatné. Součástí každé kamery je předplatné na vyzkoušení na měsíc zdarma. Během této doby si můžete vyzkoušet všechny funkce a poté se rozhodnout, zda je pro vás předplatné vhodné.

IP kameru pohání baterie. Kameru můžete připojit k internetu přes WiFi. Ovládat ji lze prostřednictvím zařízení se systémem Android a iOS. Pro připojení a nastavení je nutné vlastnit Philips Hue Bridge.

Kamery nepodporují integraci do platforem chytrých domácností jako je Apple Homekit a nejsou kompatibilní se standardem Matter.
