I will not use them anymore
I used XM4 and XM6. I suspect that Sony noise cancelling headphones caused my tinnitus. I noticed yesterday, that tinnitus gets worse immediately after starting to use the XM6 headphone. I will stop using them, I don't recommend any noise cancelling headphones. What I learned that mistakes in the cancelling might make peaks outside of human audible ranges that cause problems with hearing.

I have all models from xm4 to xm6 and I must say that Sony is getting better and better. The jump from xm4 to xm6 will definitely be a big one and worth it. The jump from xm5 to xm6 may not be as vigorous and doesn't leave a wow effect. But I have to admit that a lot of the new sound settings are interesting, especially the ability to simulate a cafe, living room etc while listening to music. So it's kind of like listening to speakers music comes from a distance and is in the background, but you have headphones. Anyway, as a Sony audiophile, I am definitely intrigued and see the positives. I recommend the jump from xm4 to xm6, the jump from xm5 to xm6 is pretty much a question for everyone.

In terms of sound, the transition from XM4 to XM5 was noticeable. I can't hear the XM5 on the XM6 - but it's the top of the segment and I like the presentation across the musical spectrum. Great with the LDAC from Tidal. Thick and brilliant sound with very decent bass, mids and treble. Reduced weight - comfortable to wear - does not press, fits. Noise cancellation - great - I don't understand that someone doesn't notice the difference between active and off noise cancellation. I use it for example in the engine room with marine engines and even then ANC can do a very good job. If the device doesn't support the LDAC codec, you won't be pulling the max out of the headphones, and you probably won't like the sound at that point. Nothing for Apple. This is an Android and PC headset. The price is too high. Unfortunately, I like to try new things. I'm definitely keeping them. This is the first time I'm reaching for the white variant - no visible greasy prints like with black and blue in the past.

I have been using the headphones almost daily for 4 months now and overall I am satisfied. They are quality comfortable headphones with ANC that really work very well. But I have to lower the rating for the price to sound quality ratio. The default sound profile is overbassed for my taste with unpleasant midrange frequencies. You can get much better results with an equalizer, but you pay (a lot) mainly for ANC and convenience. Still, I wouldn't return the headset and I think it is one of the best in the Bluetooth ANC headset category. But if sound quality is your main priority, you'll get more for your money elsewhere.
