The Shelly 4-Channel Decoupler 230V module is used to convert up to four AC signals into DC triggers. This component safely connects mains switches and sensors operating at 230V to the low-voltage inputs of compatible devices. The optocoupler inside the device provides galvanic isolation between the two electrical circuits and protects the connected components from high voltage. The white casing conceals the technology for safely switching DC inputs using the existing AC power supply, which facilitates both retrofits and the integration of specialised switches.

Converting signals from high voltage
Each of the four channels transforms a 230V AC input signal into a DC pulse. The output current is just 2.4mA DC to trigger linked actions in the system. The module acts as an intermediary between the AC mains and the DC logic. The low output current helps ensure safe switching without overloading the low-voltage inputs. Integration of different sensor types

Wiring and colour coding
Installation is made easy by colour-coded wires that are 80mm long. These wires have a 5mm stripped section for secure fastening in terminals. The brown cables labelled I1 to I4 are for inputs, the blue one labelled N is for the neutral wire, the red ones O1 to O4 are for outputs, and the black one with the earth symbol is for the common pole. Correct wiring of the neutral wire is essential for the flawless operation of all four channels.
Operating conditions and installation
This small white component operates in a temperature range of 0 to 40°C. Its design requires a hard-wired installation in a wall box behind a switch or button. Storage temperatures can range from -20 to 40°C at a humidity of 30% to 70% RH. The device is designed for operation at altitudes of up to 2,000m.
