The Learning Resources Fraction Tower equivalency cubes offer an interactive way for children to get to know the world of fractions, decimals, and percentages. The set is suitable for children from 6 years old and helps them visually understand mathematical relationships. The individual pieces are interconnecting and made of durable plastic that can withstand daily use at school and at home. This allows children to master the basics of mathematics in a playful way.
The Fraction Tower set allows children to literally get their hands on maths. The cubes are interconnecting, so it's easy to build equivalent values, for example, that one half equals two quarters. The colour-coding also helps to visually distinguish the sizes of the fractions. All the pieces are made of durable plastic, ready for frequent use in the classroom or for home learning. This means children can experiment and discover without worry.
Each of the 51 cubes in the set shows the same value on its sides in three different forms. This lets children directly see the connection between a fraction, the corresponding decimal, and the percentage representation. The set covers values such as a whole, halves, thirds, quarters, fifths, sixths, eighths, tenths, and twelfths. This makes it easy for them to learn that 0.5 is equal to 50% and also to the fraction 1/2.
The pack also includes a printed activity guide. It contains assignments and suggestions on how to use the cubes in teaching. The set is therefore suitable not only for practising at home but also as a visual aid for schools. You can use the cubes to model mixed numbers, arrange fractions by size, or add fractions with different denominators. The entire set contains 51 cubes and a guide.
