Quarto Mini
Outsmart your opponent with a clever move in the wooden Quarto Mini game
The Quarto Mini board game from publisher Gigamic and designer Blaise Muller offers tactical competition on a square wooden board in a compact edition, which is ideal for travelling. Players take turns placing pieces with different properties—such as shape, colour, size, or top—on the game board. Victory requires creating a continuous row of four pieces that share at least one common attribute. The main game principle is that your opponent exclusively decides which piece you play on your turn. This fast and educational board game is designed for 2 players aged 8 and up, with one game taking about 15 minutes.

Game objective and piece selection principle
In this game, both opponents try to create an unbroken row of 4 pieces with the same property. Each of the 16 pieces has 4 different characteristics, including colour, height, shape, and 2 variants of solid or hollow tops. Players do not choose their own game pieces; instead, they receive them from their opponent. This mechanic forces you to pay constant attention every time a piece is handed over. A mistake in selection can instantly give your opponent the opportunity for a winning move. The game is designed for 2 players from 8 years and one game lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Turn progression and pattern recognition
The active player's turn consists of two basic steps. First, they place the piece given to them by their opponent on any free space on the board. Then, they select one piece from the available figures and pass it to their opponent. The game requires constant monitoring of all four properties on the board. The first person to spot a row of four pieces with a matching attribute and declare 'Quarto' wins.
Wooden components and compact dimensions
This edition stands out with its all-wood construction for both the game board and all the game pieces. The board measures 17×17×1cm, making it easy to carry. You can safely store all components in a compact box measuring 18×18×4.5cm. The wooden pieces are pleasant to the touch and resist wear and tear from frequent use. The game also includes a full set of English rules to help you easily understand the game principles.
