The game SETI - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence has a total of 5 rounds, in which players can launch space probes, move them around the Solar System, guide them into orbit around planets or land them, receive signals from nearby stars, analyse data, and research new technologies. In addition to these main actions, they can also exchange resources or buy cards for publicity.

Traces of alien life

At the core of SETI - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence is the search for traces of alien life, represented by tokens that players acquire for successful actions, such as landing on planets or analysing data. Players place these traces on the alien life boards, and once enough traces have accumulated under one board, that alien life form is discovered. Each discovered form then introduces new rules, interaction possibilities, and more ways to score points. There are 5 unique alien life forms, of which players will discover 2 random ones in each game. This ensures high replayability.

Technological development and the path to victory

Throughout the game SETI - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, players acquire and spend various resources—credits to fund space missions, energy to operate equipment, and data for analysis. Researching technologies will bring them permanent bonuses and new abilities that will improve the efficiency of their actions. At the end of the fifth round, players face a final scoring phase where they receive points for completed missions, discovered technologies, and other criteria specific to the discovered alien life forms. The player with the highest score is the winner.
