Cats vs. psi: Japanese-style secret mission
Shadow Ninjas is a fun, visually appealing family game where ninja cats try to secretly infiltrate the Shogun's mansion and steal precious koi carp, while the player, as guard dogs, tries to stop them. The rules are sometimes not entirely clear, but playable, and the game mechanics are based on memory, bluffing and dice rolling. One player controls the guards, the others play as ninjas who secretly deploy their chips and try to confuse the opponent.
Suspense, laughter and confusion - a game where memory decides
The game is most fun in multiplayer, when unexpected situations, frustration and laughter arise from players not remembering where their ninjas are. The role of guardians is easier to understand, but winning with them is not obvious. The game is heavily reliant on chance (dice rolls) and can be frustrating at times, but the thrilling atmosphere, beautiful visuals and player interaction make it a lot of fun - though not for everyone.
