Magnetic ski carriers are mounted on the roof of a car (must be made of metal) and are used for transporting skis and other winter equipment. They are fastened to the roof by means of magnets, although they can also be secured with a belt. They are easier to assemble than standard roof racks and do not require the purchase of cross beams.
