i-DOS with Detergent Scan – precise dosing for your detergent
Bosch washing machines with the i-DOS automatic dosing system set the precise amount of detergent automatically, down to the millilitre. By dosing precisely, the system helps protect your laundry from overdosing and contributes to the efficient use of detergent.
i-DOS automatic dosing – no manual measuring
The i-DOS system automatically dispenses detergent and fabric softener according to the specific needs of the wash. It uses only the necessary amount, saving you from having to pour it in for every programme. More precise dosing also helps reduce excess water consumption from rinsing out surplus detergent.
Steam refresh – fewer creases in 20 minutes
The Steam Refresh programme gently treats your laundry with steam during a separate 20-minute cycle. You can use it for freshly washed and dried clothes, as well as for a creased shirt or pair of trousers you've worn. The function reduces creases by up to 50% and can significantly shorten your subsequent ironing time.
Mini Load – economical washing for a few items
Need to quickly wash one T-shirt or another very small load? The Mini Load function is designed for single items and laundry loads up to 0.5kg. Compared to a standard programme, it can reduce energy consumption by up to 40%, so you don't have to wait to fill the entire drum.
Home Connect – easier programme selection and remote control
The Home Connect app lets you check your washing machine remotely, monitor the programme's progress, and manage its features. The Easy Start Guide recommends the right programme based on your laundry's colour, material type and level of soiling. Automatic notifications also keep you informed about the current wash status, so you don't have to repeatedly check the appliance.
Energy efficiency class A
Thanks to their energy management system, Bosch washing machines achieve the highest energy efficiency class, A, ensuring your laundry is washed efficiently.
Active Water Plus – water based on the actual load
Our Active Water Plus technology delivers perfect results while using only the necessary amount of water for each wash. Thanks to its highly efficient water management technology, the exact load is automatically detected and the water consumption is adjusted accordingly. Save up to 50% of water when washing smaller loads.
Speed Perfect – clean laundry up to 65% faster
The Speed Perfect function reduces washing time by up to 65% and can be combined with most programmes. It saves time without compromising on the desired results. For example, when combined with the Mix programme, it thoroughly washes up to 4kg of mixed laundry in just 46 minutes.
Anti Stain – targets 16 types of stains
The Anti Stain system can target 16 types of tough stains, such as grease, blood, cosmetics or tea. The washing machine automatically adjusts the temperature, drum movement and soaking time according to the selected type of stain, so you don't have to find the right settings yourself.
Reload – you can add forgotten laundry
If conditions are right, you can also add a forgotten sock or T-shirt after the programme has started. Press the Reload button to pause the cycle, open the door, and add or remove laundry. You can then continue with the selected wash.
AquaStop – protection against water damage
The AquaStop system uses a double-layered inlet hose, a safety valve, and a floor pan with a float switch. It protects against water leaks at the inlet and inside the appliance. With AquaStop, Bosch provides a guarantee against water damage for the lifetime of the appliance.
Automatic programmes – washing without complicated settings
Automatic programmes adjust the wash cycle to the fabric type and how dirty it is. Simply fill the drum and start your chosen automatic programme. The washing machine will then adjust the important cycle parameters itself.
Hygiene Plus – hygienic results at 40°C
The Hygiene Plus programme maintains a constant temperature during the cycle and adds an extra rinse. When washing at 40°C, it removes 99.99% of common germs and is also effective against dust mites found in household dust.
Vario Drum – effective and gentle washing
The patented Vario Drum structure distributes water evenly and adapts the laundry's movement according to the direction of rotation. The droplet-shaped surface and asymmetric paddles gently guide fabrics towards the centre. The drum can thoroughly wash heavily soiled laundry while gently caring for more delicate materials.
AntiVibration sidewalls – more stable and quieter operation
The specially designed side walls help increase the appliance's stability and reduce vibration. The improved insulation also lowers the operating noise. This keeps the washing machine quieter, even during high-speed spin cycles.
Touch Control – easy cycle customisation
The Touch Control buttons let you conveniently change the wash programme settings. The intuitive controls make it easy to customise the cycle without the hassle of traditional mechanical elements.
Delay start – laundry ready at the right time
You can schedule the start of the wash programme to fit your daily routine. Set the time you want your laundry to be ready within the next 24 hours. This means you can have the machine run overnight, for example, and unload the laundry first thing in the morning.
Sport/Fitness programme – care for sportswear
The Sport/Fitness programme is designed for functional and sports fabrics and uses low temperatures from cold water up to 40°C. Short rinse and spin phases help reduce creasing in delicate sportswear.

Is it possible to change the door opening direction on the washing machine?
On the vast majority of front-loading washing machines, the door opening direction cannot be reversed, since the door hinge is permanently built into the front panel and tied to the electromagnetic safety lock. Reversible doors are more common on dryers or certain premium models.
Is it possible to remove the top panel?
On modern washing machines, the top panel cannot be removed for undercounter installation, as it provides protection against moisture and electrical hazards. These machines are designed to stand freely or fit under a sufficiently high countertop (85 cm).
The control of the washing machine is locked and the key symbol (child lock) is illuminated.
The child lock is active. To turn it off, press and hold the "Ready in" and "Spin speed" buttons — or the button marked with a key/3s icon — together for about 3 seconds. The machine will beep and the key symbol will go out.
Is it better to have a washing machine with or without i-DOS?
A washing machine with i-DOS (automatic dosing) is the better choice. It detects the load size, fabric type, and soil level, then doses detergent down to the milliliter. This can save up to 38% of water use and a significant amount of detergent each year, while helping prevent stains and residue buildup in the drum.
Can I use powdered detergent with a washing machine with i-DOS?
Yes, powdered detergent can be used, but it can't be dosed automatically. It needs to go manually into the compartment designated for manual dosing in the drawer, while the automatic i-DOS chambers are meant only for liquid detergent and softener.
i-DOS automatic dosing does not dispense detergent (in general).
Check whether the i-DOS function is switched on for that chamber on the control panel (look for the lit icon). Also check that the detergent isn't too thick — it can be diluted slightly with water — and that the drawer's suction valves aren't clogged; it's best to remove the drawer and rinse it thoroughly with warm water.
The washing machine does not dispense fabric softener.
For manual dosing, check whether the cap or siphon in the softener compartment is blocked — remove the drawer and rinse it with warm water. With i-DOS, make sure the chamber is set in the machine's menu to dispense softener (not a second detergent) and that dosing is switched on.
I am having trouble unscrewing the bottom filter for objects.
The filter is often blocked by limescale, lint, or a foreign object such as a coin. Avoid using excessive force, as this can strip the plastic thread. Try gently working it loose by turning it back and forth, or carefully use pliers with a cloth for grip. If the problem persists, it's best to contact authorized service.
How do I drain the water from the washing machine and open the locked door (if the program did not complete and ended with an error)?
Unplug the machine from the power supply. Open the small service panel at the bottom and drain the water into a container using the small emergency drain hose. Then pull the emergency release cord (usually a black or blue plastic tab) downward to mechanically unlock the door so it can be opened.
What are the dimensions of the washing machine?
Standard front-loading washing machines measure roughly 85 cm in height, 60 cm in width, and 55–60 cm in depth.
The washing machine jumps during the spin cycle.
This is most often caused by not removing the transit bolts on the back of the machine after unboxing. If they were removed, check that the machine is properly leveled on its adjustable feet and stands firmly on a stable floor. An overloaded drum or a single bulky item (like a blanket) causing an uneven load can also be the cause.
The laundry doesn't smell fresh after washing.
This usually happens due to bacteria and mold buildup inside the machine from frequent washing at low temperatures (30–40 °C). Run the Drum Clean program or an intensive 90 °C cycle with a washing machine cleaner and no laundry. After each wash, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open.
What is the duration of each program?
Duration depends on the selected program and load size. Eco 40-60 usually takes the longest, around 3 to 3.5 hours, to maximize energy and water savings. Quick programs (Super 15'/30') take 15 to 30 minutes, while a standard Cotton 40 °C program runs about 2 to 2.5 hours.
Can I place a dryer on top of the washing machine?
Yes, this is possible and a popular space-saving setup. A dryer can be placed on top of a front-loading washing machine that's at least 55 cm deep. For safe installation, it's essential to use an original stacking kit, which may also include a handy pull-out shelf.
Why does the program time lengthen or shorten?
Washing machines are equipped with smart sensors (such as ActiveWater Plus) that monitor load size, fabric absorbency, and foam levels. If a smaller load is detected, the time is shortened dynamically. If there's excess foam or an unbalanced load, the machine adds extra rinses or tries to redistribute the laundry, which extends the time instead.
Can the water and drain connections of the washing machine be extended?
Yes. The AquaStop inlet hose can't be extended with a regular hose — an original extension kit (code WMZ2381 / WMZ20490), 2.5 meters long, must be used instead. The drain hose can be extended using a standard connector and extension hose, up to a maximum total length of 4 meters.
