Real-time tracking of moving objects
Advanced object recognition algorithms ensure stable focus on moving objects in real time. Detection uses information about the texture (brightness), the distance of the object (depth), and information about the face and eye location. With this feature, you'll capture all the important moments in perfect sharpness, both for photos and videos.

For taking professional portraits, there is an eye detection function with autofocus even when the subject is moving. In addition, you can choose to focus on the left or right eye. Eye detection works for both human and animal objects.

The SONY DSC-RX100 VII digital camera features a large 1" 20.1MP sensor that utilizes a wide ISO 100 - 12,800 sensitivity range for high-quality photos with minimal noise and realistic-looking textures.
Excellent colour and texture reproduction
The EXMOR RS image sensor uses special image processing algorithms to achieve more realistic textures and colours. This makes human skin tones more natural and the colours of flowers and exotic animals more vibrant and vivid.
Optical Image Stabilisation
To capture perfectly sharp images even when shooting handheld or in low-light conditions, the camera is equipped with an optical stabiliser with the equivalent of 4.0x faster exposure time at 200mm.
Distortion limiting shutter
The maximum shutter speed is 1/32000 sec, eliminating the effect of motion distortion when shooting fast-moving subjects. There is also a silent shooting option.
Effect for soft skin tones
Using the Soft Skin Tone effect, facial wrinkles and signs of lackluster skin are reduced, allowing you to create better portraits. A range of other creative effects and styles are available to put the finishing touches on your image.
Professional filming features
The SONY DSC-RX100 VII digital camera enables smooth video recording in 4K resolution (3840×2160px / 30p) with full pixel readout without pixel binning. During recording, advanced AF algorithms are used to ensure stable autofocus, real-time subject tracking and automatic human eye detection. With support for HLG image profiles, HDR dynamic range is possible. There is also an interval scanning function with an interval setting of 1 - 60 seconds.
External microphone input
There's also an input for connecting an external microphone with a standard 3.5mm connector to enable professional audio recording for movies and vlogs.
Enhanced image stabilisation
During 4K video recording, you can use the new Active Image Stabilisation mode to achieve smoother recording than when using a gimbal.
One-touch viewfinder
The XGA OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder is easily accessible via a slide-out switch. The viewfinder has a resolution of 2.35 million dots and provides a clear, detailed image with high contrast.
Tiltable display for composing shots
The back of the camera is dominated by a 3.0" LCD touchscreen with a fine resolution of 921,000 dots. Thanks to a special design, the screen can be tilted up approximately 180° and down approximately 90°, making it easy to take selfies or creative shots from unusual angles.
Touch control
With just a touch of the screen, you can activate real-time object tracking. Touch Focus, Touch Pad and Touch Shutter are also available.
Easy data management
In viewing mode, you can rate or protect individual images from accidental deletion, or assign custom buttons to these functions. Serial images can be clearly displayed in groups.
