The moment you leave your vehicle, the Vantrue camera becomes its watchdog, but only if you also have the Vantrue Hardwire Kit VP01. This is a kit for permanent mounting of the camera in the car. You get continuous power to the dashcam from the vehicle battery even after the engine is switched off. If the camera detects a shake in your parked car, it will automatically start recording. For example, if you get hit, you will have a record of the time of the accident. The camera will also trigger if a person is detected in the vicinity of the vehicle (but your camera must support these functions).
