The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test Kit is suitable for home use. Detects the antigen of the new coronavirus 2019-nCoV in a clinical specimen. The test works on the principle of immunochromatography. It includes colloidal gold-labeled antigen and a complex of control antibodies . It also contains nitrocellulose membranes on which the test strip and the control strip are marked. You will find out the result of the test for the detection of coronavirus antigen 2019-nCoV in just 15 minutes. The pack contains a disposable test card, a disposable swab and buffer.
Once you place the sample rod in the test card and drip the required number of drops of buffer, a specific antibody-antigen reaction is triggered. The N protein in the sample is combined with the anti-N protein antibody of the new coronavirus (labeled with colloidal gold) with which the conjugation pad is coated. Subsequently, by rising, the conjugate migrates upwards and is captured by a monoclonal antibody against the N protein (immobilized in the T test region). The darker the colour in the T region, the higher the N protein content of the sample . Therefore, if there is no virus in the sample or there is less than the detection limit, the T region will not stain. The control area (C) turns purple regardless of the presence or absence of virus in the sample. This is a criterion for assessing the addition of a sufficient or insufficient sample and whether the chromatographic procedure was normal or not.
Open the box, unpack the single-use test package, remove the contents and allow the reagents to stabilize at room temperature, approximately 24 ° C. Read the entire operating instructions carefully and use the antigen detection kit immediately after removing it from the protective packaging, no later than 60 minutes after removal and sampling.
The 2019-nCoV antigen sample is positive if purple-red lines appear in the quality control area (C) and the test area (T). If a positive sample is detected, it is necessary to retest as soon as possible by direct virus detection.
The sample for 2019-nCoV antigen is negative if only one purple-red line appears in the quality control area (C) and the test area (T) is empty. However, continue to monitor your condition and we recommend that you repeat the test after approximately 24 hours. Remember that in the case of infection, the amount of antibodies is formed individually and is usually accompanied by an elevated temperature.
An invalid result is when if no or a blue stripe appears in the control area (C). This can be caused by a long test delay, reagent contamination, temperature degradation of the test, etc. In this case, repeat the test with a new test kit.
The kit consists of a test card for the detection of new coronavirus antigen, instructions for use, a swab and buffer.
Při testování na infekci existují 2 spolehlivé metody.
The PCR test method is based on the identification of a pathogen based on the presence of pathogen DNA or RNA in a patient sample. It is often possible to detect a pathogen before the level of antibodies in the body rises. This method requires professional staff, specific laboratory equipment, adherence to the temperature chain and therefore cannot be practiced at home. These are tests used by medical professionals.
Another method is serological testing for antibodies. Antibodies are part of the immune system. They are immunoglobulin proteins that help protect against microscopic pathogens, including viruses. Each antibody produced is uniquely engineered to recognize a specific structure on the surface of the pathogen. This structure is called the “antigen“ and is the structure that causes the production of antibodies, which then bind to the antigen and thus neutralize, damage and kill it (combining the antibody and antigen creates a so-called immunocomplex that mobilizes the immune system).
Thus, this method does not look for the pathogen itself, but “only“ the antibodies that the body produces as a defense against the pathogen. The principle of this test is based on the fact that COVID-19 activates IgM and IgG antibodies in the body, which in combination with the COVID-19 antigen are specific for SARS-1, SARS-2 = COVID-19 and MERS. An example of such a test is:

The advantage of this examination is easy availability, low price, the possibility of performing the test at home in a few minutes. Accuracy depends on the amount of antibody production in the body, which is highly individual and dependent on health, age, sex, overall immunity and other factors, such as e. g. weight. The infected organism responds to the pathogen by an immune reaction, in particular by initiating the production of antibodies and raising the temperature.
