A tripod is used to stabilise the camera in conditions where its shaking or other movement could result in blurred photos. Stabilised images look better than those captured with a hand-held camera. It’s also useful in low light conditions, when you need better depth of field, etc. A good tripod should be sufficiently durable and have a higher weight capacity than is the weight of your camera equipment.
